I am in a DOORS 9.3 environment and DOORS does NOT pre-populate the user name into the login window Username: field (it DID do that in my old job with both DOORS 9.3 and 9.6). So I tried this: start DOORS with some command line arguments (to add my own menus) and also now the following argument: -user "<username>" (where <username> is the required login name) (I also tried this without the quotes around the login name and get the same results:) Although it works (login name is pre-populated in the login window as desired), ... I always get before the login window a DOORS report window with the error message "Invalid username or password". Any ideas how to prevent that error message? strathglass - Fri Jun 16 08:25:24 EDT 2017 |
Re: "-user name" argument gives error: Invalid username or password The way we use to pre-populate DOORS user ID in the login screen is to populate the [System username] in each User's Properties. That's the ID they use to log into the network. Regarding the error you get with your command line method, I can only guess that the <username> does not match any in the user list. Good luck! Tom |

Tom Finally had a chance to test this: had an admin change my "System username" from blank to my DOORS login username==my Windows login username. Now the DOORS login window has my username pre--populated with the correct value. Thanks! |
